Partner with the best

In this role, you'll collaborate with multiple teams to build mission-critical services and environments for the Akamai Connected Cloud platform. You'll contribute directly to the backend of internal services and tools that drive development and testing improvements throughout our organization.

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Developing a software backend that automates the creation of testing environments to support engineering teams
• Contributing to the team mission of improving our virtual machine based development environments
• Identifying bottlenecks with development and deployment strategies, proposing solutions that improve performance and reliability
• Collaborating with Senior Engineers and Architects on solutions that increase the speed in which they ship products
• Working on a highly collaborative global team that values feedback and open communication.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 2 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in work experience
• Have professional experience in a Software Development role
• Have hands-on experience with Python3 and REST API frameworks such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI
• Possess a good understanding of application security, microservices architecture and cloud computing concepts
• Be comfortable working with relational databases such as MySQL or Postgres

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $93,656 - $140,803/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
