Job Description

Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring an Associate to join our Insurance Operations team.

About the role

You will design and manage processes of our insurance operations with a focus on identifying areas for improvement to create efficiency and scale. You will identify, scope and implement solutions for operational challenges across the provider, member or claims lifecycles.

You will report to the Technical Operations Manager. This is a remote / work-from-home role. You must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington. Responsibilities

  • Lead and cross collaborate on iterative problem definition and scoping to build solutions for process design and implementation of strategy to improve the efficacy and efficiency of existing operational processes or unlock new capabilities
  • Use data to independently guide decisions to affect strategy
  • Develop and prioritize operation roadmaps working across the organization to implementation.
  • Distill the requirements of new product and market expansions and design automated workflows to reduce manual work requirements.
  • Support the Operations team to resolve escalations through issue investigation, training, and technical tooling.
  • Understanding of the operations ecosystem, technology and data models and its current strengths, weaknesses, and gaps.
  • Manage relationships with relevant partners (e.g., Product, Engineering) as a representative of Insurance Operations.
  • Define a set of Indicators to measure business and operational impact, and able to analyze and use them in decision-making processes.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of work in operations, healthcare, health insurance, data analysis, engineering and/or consulting
  • 3+ years of experience using data software such as Excel, VBA, or Macros
  • 1+ year of experience using coding languages such as SQL
  • 3+ years of experience developing project plans coordinating with all partners
  • Proficiency in designing and improving workflows and standing up accompanying operating and technical procedures

Bonus Points

  • A bachelor's degree in a tech related field or 3+ years of relevant working experience
  • 3+ years of knowledge management, training, or content development in operational settings
  • Process Improvement or Lean Six Sigma training
  • Experience with Provider Data Management
