What We’re Looking For The Sidebench apprenticeship program is a 6-month full-time paid developmental program that is designed to provide the Apprentice with valuable & meaningful first-hand experience within a specific discipline. We’re looking for a motivated individual who is looking to gain insight into business development and sales strategy within the tech and consulting world. Apprenticeship Details We are looking for a Strategy and Business Development Apprentice. We invest a lot of time into all of our Apprentices in the hopes that after their 6-month contract ends, they’ll be better suited to venture out into the world with strong work experience. There is a possibility that some apprentices may join the team full-time after the 6-month period ends. During the Apprenticeship you will: - Gain significant exposure to sales and business development practices within one of the fastest growing digital product consultancies in the US - Do impactful work that contributes to the greater goals of the Sidebench team - Be challenged to think big, creatively solve problems, and turn solutions into processes - Have a dedicated mentor throughout the apprenticeship who is there to help guide you and provide regular, structured feedback - Work with and learn from a team of smart, friendly, and fun techies who care about your development Responsibilities With our Business Development team, you will assist in a myriad of activities that cover everything from client relations to the core pillars of our sales strategies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Sourcing & qualifying quality leads for the Associates - Acquiring & maintaining a working knowledge of Sidebench solutions - Demonstrating initiative, creativity & collaboration through ad-hoc projects for various departments - Uncovering & qualifying prospective customer needs, understanding business processes, identifying projects, determining requirements, and ascertaining potential solutions - Handling various tasks throughout the sales cycle that support other BD team members and cross-functional teams - Helping prep for meetings and following up with additional materials to set the team up for success - Researching our clients, competitors and our target markets to provide greater insight for the wider team - Designing processes to equip Sidebench’s BD team with the necessary tools to execute on our sales strategy Qualifications We are looking for a self-starter who has some previous experience in a sales role with a B2B company or in a similar type of business development role. Our ideal candidate has: - 1-2 years of exposure to business development, client services, or communications roles - Genuine interest in technology and business and the desire to learn - The ability to work independently and go above and beyond the original scope of their tasks - Strong research and analytical skills and problem solving ability - Strong project management skills and strong attention to detail - Strong verbal and written communication skills - A positive attitude and remains responsive, proactive, enthusiastic, and adaptable - Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with a start-up culture - Must be able to commit to a full-time role for a period of 6 months Preferred Local to the Los Angeles area and willing to come into the office 2-4 days/week Diversity Statement We know that innovation thrives on product teams where diverse points of view come together to solve hard problems in ways that are just now possible.
