Business Associate, Business Development – Commercial Delivery

Job Description

Zymergen is seeking a Business Associate to join its Business Development – Commercial Delivery Team. This role will work closely with technical experts and other internal stakeholders, as well as clients to ensure project success. The goals are to assess and monitor internal operations to meet Zymergen’s commitment to clients and technical capabilities, as well as collect and analyze data to evaluate existing and potential business opportunities.

Job Description and Specific Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations and strategic program execution
• Coordinate/track activities in service of project milestones and revenue targets
• Manage P&L to ensure programs are within budget
• Develop and manage communications for customer and partner interactions; assist in preparing client deliverables
• Develop in-depth knowledge of the market, industry, and potential clients
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives to develop standardized processes and documentation

Qualifications/Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering plus 2 years of work experience
• OR Masters in Science or Engineering
• Background and/or Experience in one or more of the following:
• Synthetic biology, chemicals, life sciences, or related industries
• Project-based execution (could include formal Project Management)
• Good analytical and modeling skills and market research capability
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
